Maersk Tankers own and operate a fleet of fully- and semi-refrigerated gas carriers offering flexible and comprehensive solutions for the transportation of Liquefied Petroleum Gasses (LPG), Ammonia as well as Petrochemical gasses. We are committed to deliver second-to-none transportation solutions in close, active co-operation with our customers.
Maersk Tankers today control a fleet of 9 vessels in the VLGC segment. Effective 1st January 2009 Maersk Tankers has formed a pool of vessels with Transpetrol Maritime Services and Zodiac Maritime Agencies Ltd. The pool will manage 14 modern VLGC's by 2012 and Maersk Tankers will undertake all daily commercial and operational tasks on short as well as long term employment. The pool will operate modern quality tonnage only and have high focus on Health, Safety and Environment.
In the mid-size segment, Maersk Tankers is active with 3 modern vessels trading in the Maersk Tankers-Zodiac Mid-size Pool. The 3 vessels are used for LPG and Ammonia transport. The pool has one further vessel on order due delivery 2009.
The Handysize fleet consists of 10 vessels and 8 more are on order. The Handysize vessels are used for transport of LPG, Ammonia and Petrochemical gasses.
Our fleet is employed in a mix of Time charters, Contract of Affreightments (COAs) and in the worldwide spot market. For all 3 segments, Maersk Tankers operate modern quality tonnage only and have high focus on Health, Safety and Environment. There are currently 13 employees dedicated to commercial operation of Maersk Tankers Gas.
