Maersk Tankers, which was was established in 1928, remained a part of A.P. Moller – Maersk until becoming an independent company in 2017. It is now owned by A.P. Moller Holding through its subsidiary APMH Invest. As part of the acquisition, A.P. Moller Holding established an ownership consortium for the Maersk Tankers’ fleet with Mitsui & Co. Maersk Product Tankers was formed as the vessel-owning entity. The services for the vessels owned by Maersk Product Tankers are handled by Maersk Tankers, and include commercial management, technical management and corporate services.
